2012 NHL Winter Classic

As always the NHL Winter Classic is always a fun event to watch. As a Stars fan I couldn’t help but root for the Flyers in this one. The main reason is because they have Brad Richards who without a shadow of a doubt was the best goal scorer for the Stars last year. The Flyers looked pretty good in the 2nd period whenever they had a 2-0 lead. Mike Rupp for the Rangers would get the Rangers first goal 14:51 into the 2nd period. Rupp as well would get the goal that tied it up at 2 goals apiece 2:41 into the 3rd period. Just to top it off for this Stars fan Brad Richards would get the goal that would give the Rangers the lead for the first time in the game with 14:39 left in the game. The last hope would come in an attempted penalty shot by Daniel Briere with about 20 seconds left in the game. Henrik Lundqvist would make the save and a few more after the penalty shot to end the 2012 NHL Winter Classic. Lundqvist was awarded the 2nd star of the game right behind his teammate Mike Rupp.
